Yes. I handed in my two-weeks' notice today at Chick-fil-A. It's kind of a huge deal, since I've worked there for almost 6 years (5 years and 8 months to be exact). Since I was sixteen, that place has played a huge role in my life - I grew up a lot, and it stayed my constant. There was a time when my identity was wrapped up in how important I was to my boss, my co-workers, and the store. Not anymore! No sir.

I'm going to miss my CFA friends, but... It's time. You know? And we're in a place right now where it's ok if I'm not working. So I'm going to take advantage of that... maybe go back to school and finish up a degree.. focus on photography - because I enjoy it. Start experimenting in the kitchen again. So I don't know! It's exciting, it's strange, it's a little sad, but I'm happy with my decision.

So, two weeks! That's all I've got left at the chickywicky. I'm not sure about next week's schedule, but this week I'm working Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning til 3 if anyone wants to come by and say hi!

It doesn't really feel real yet.

Three Things:
  • The batteries in my back-up camera died, and we have no extra batteries in the house. So. You get another photobooth picture today.. Sooorry!
  • Well, tomorrow is a big day for me.. Not only do I get my camera back, but other important things are happening that I can't talk about on the internet until tomorrow evening. Haha! Yay for being vague! Promise I'll tell you tomorrow.
  • Early night for me. Goodnight!

Photobooth to the rescue!

Three Things:
  • I'm bummed because I have to work (read: wake up at 4:45) a lot next week = I'm going to be worn out and worthless.
  • We saw the Beiber movie today with Josh's siblings :P it. was. awesome.
  • <3 Nutella.

Three Things:
  • My dad is borrowing the camera this weekend. I am so... so sad about that... I already miss it. So the next few days' photos are going to be of a poorer quality. And they'll be shot by a sad Kelli. Mostly joking, of course.
  • Last night, the MacDonald's shed got pwned by the storm. So Josh went over and helped Barry take care of the mess-chainsawing a tree and tarping the roof-and I met them up for dinner at O'Charley's. :) It was a good time. COME HOME, EMILY we freaking miss you...
  • "Welcome to Chick-fil-A, my name is Kelli; how may I serve you?" I have literally uttered this greeting thousands and thousands of times in the last (almost) six years. I don't even think about it, it just tumbles off my tongue.. I'm sick of selling chicken in my life.

All of these people are avid fans of roller coasters.
Three Things:
  • Aunt Linda makes the most delicious French Bread Pizza. Better than I ever could have imagined. Also, I was struck several times with how gorgeous both Katie and Hannah are. Can't forget Caiden - he's adorable.
  • My husband is awesome and can literally quote the entire first Spiderman movie, scene by scene. No joke. I couldn't sleep last night and asked him to tell me a story - this is what he gave me.
  • Duuuude, we got an FD to EOS lens adapter today and it is awesome. Now I can put my old lenses for the AE-1 onto the body of the new, digital 7D. I love it - I get so much more depth with my old lenses <3

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Three Things:
  • Josh got this freaking awesome Steel Trains vinyl today. (Oh my gosh it kind of looks like The Eye of Mordor.)
  • "Remember, with great power comes great responsibility." - Peter Parker's Uncle Ben
  • I painted these Leeland and Ella salt and pepper shakers for Momma Laurie on Friday, and I gave them to her today :) AREN'T THEY CUTE.

Oh'p, also, Reverse Apples to Apples.

GUESS WHAT. I did a bunch of stuff today that I can't post pictures of because they involve gifts for other people. People who see this blog. So you guys get a picture of my oven. Sweet, huh?

Three Things:

  • It is possible to stop eating at a buffet before you burst. And Koi is still delicious.
  • Josh is going to love his present. (And other people who are getting their gifts in the near future)
  • I need to plan my days better, specifically in regards to this blog and the pictures I'm going to post.

GAME NIGHT. :D I like this picture, haha. I wish I'd spent a little more time figuring out the lighting situation... I really only would've needed to make a couple of tweaks to even out the lighting for the photo (also the framing isn't the best... I corrected that with later pictures but none of those turned out as well as this one AHEMJORDANCOUGH)... But whatever. That's what this blog is for - it's a learning experience. :)

Man, tonight was really fun. We played Argue again, and yeah. That game is just fun. I think a lot of why I like it is because it hasn't become a "screw you" game (as we like to call it), which basically means that a lot of the games we play involve deception and maliciousness.. And those "screw you" games are all pretty good fun, but it's just a nice change of pace, haha. And it gets outrageous pretty quick! I LIKE IT.

Aren't my parents cute? :D I love this. I wanted to take a picture of them, but Dad was in the middle of something. So while we waited, Mom shot me this ultra cute glance - I'm glad I caught it. They are still so in love! It's awesome.

Today was fun. We went over to my family's this afternoon and hung out with them for a few hours, then we met up with Barry and Jen and went to Josh's family's for dinner/Halo/this awesome new game called "Argue!" I really liked that game - it feels like it'll become a classic.

Also, I'm ready for Emily MacDonald to come home. That's all.

Tonight's sunset :)

Today is my 50th day of blogging! I'm so proud of myself for not missing any days (I'm not counting the few late nights when I had to post an hour or two late).

I know that this isn't the most interesting photo to post on such an anniversary.. But today was a major chill day for Josh and I, so it's what I have. I'm pretty pleased with this particular scoreboard! Josh gave me an XBox Live account for my birthday, so I've only been playing Halo since Tuesday. I'm Keener Taylor, there... and this was the first game I've played that I wasn't in last place. Also I beat my highest score by like 7000! So. It was an awesome game for me. And I have to tell all of you that I've really enjoyed playing Halo for real. I mean... I'm still not ready to play online against other people, but I'm getting the controls down enough to hold my own against AI aliens pretty well, haha. Shrug. It's just a silly something, but it's cool because  Josh enjoys playing, and I like enjoying the things he enjoys. So we can enjoy them together! Haha.

Anyway, that's basically it. G'night, lovelies.

Josh and I went to Fired Up a couple days ago for a date, and these are the finished products :D Mine is a soap dispenser for our downstairs bathroom, and Josh's is a "potato plate." Here's the other side of Josh's:

"Eat those Carbs 2/11" and "I would like to thank Barry MacDonald. Thanks."

Hahaha. He's hilarious. I <3 his sense of humor... makes me laugh!

I went again today with Bethany, Jen, and Chelsea, and it was a lot of fun! (as always) I love that place. They know me by name now, haha... Love it!

Josh, Amy, and Erika (one of the other DJ's)
Today is the last day of broadcasting for WNAZ. So we went and hung out with a few radio peeps tonight and said our last goodbyes to the station. This whole process has been kinda hard on Josh... 89.1 treated him well over the years. It's such a shame that school decided to sell. Such a shame! They'll be broadcasting til midnight tonight, so if you're interested, you can listen to the last moments on the air on their website. Just click "On The Air" and then "Listen Online."

We'll miss you, WNAZ!

Josh and Klim (the station's engineer)
The call letters, taken from the wall. :(

Good great day.

Josh got me a fisheye lens!! PSYCHED

Today was my 22nd birthday! It was the best birthday I've ever had :D I slept in, Josh made me breakfast, I opened my gifts, hung out at home and ate lunch, then we went thrifting, and then went on a dinner date :) So now you know the details of my birthday, haha. It was fun.

Yes. I have a metal molar.

Josh knows me so well :) I didn't even have to ask him for most of this stuff, he just knew I'd like it, so he bought it for my birthday :D

One last picture. This fisheye lens is AWESOME. Ok back to spending time with my wonderful husband :P goodnight, interwebs.

My husband is so CUTE. I think he's very handsome. And, oh, those eyes! <3 :P

Happy Valentines Day! Man, the weather was gorgeous, was it not? I am so excited about the spring. We decided yesterday that we were going to go to the park after our Fulin's lunch date (omg @ crab rangoon), so when we cracked open our fortune cookies today and Josh's said, "Visit a park today. Enjoy nature and it's beauty," or something like that hahahaha. It was a weird/awesome moment. :P

Now, I know that the Percy Priest Dam isn't technically a park. We were going to go to Charlie Daniel's originally, but I wanted to relive one of our earliest dates - hanging out and taking pictures at the Dam. The sunshine was so pleasant! We had a good time :)

Overall, first married Valentine's Day = a success! <3 One thing I love about Josh and I is that we make a point to have special days fairly often.. so while V-Day is a good excuse to have another one of those, it's not a day that means too much more than any other date day :D Oh, also tomorrow is my birthday, so haha - I guess that's why I've never really had any strong feelings (positive or negative) toward the holiday.

Love to you all!

Sunday, February 13, 2011

My family took me out on this gorgeous day for a "Happy Birthday" dinner :D :D Seriously, that Greek Cuisine place in Mt Juliet is SO GOOD. My Josh took this picture = why he's not in it :( And my brother Josh is at school :( However, it was a lovely time. My parents gave me a gift certificate to Fired Up, and you KNOW I'm going to use that sucker soon. I love that place. I wonder if they're hiring? Lol they could just pay me in pottery pieces to paint.

And I got my mug back today! (Here is a picture of the outside.I love it - and just in time for Valentine's Day :)

Our house is a mess. It's kinda just been one of those weeks.. Also, today was the first day that I literally had no desire to try to take a picture, so I just pointed the camera from the floor without using the viewfinder or paying attention to any of the settings - haha - turned out kinda cool. *Shrug*

Alright, I promised my husband I'd play a game or two of Halo with him, so.. off to do that :)

Josh likes this one, haha.

Really impressed with Josh's photo skillz.
Tonight, we celebrated my birthday with a bunch of friends :) It was really good! Everyone made me feel very special. I'm exhausted, though, so I'm going to bed. More pictures from the party will show up on facebook sooner or later, I'm sure... meanwhile, this first picture was taken by Josh, the next one was by Amy, and this last picture was one I actually took before party people arrived. (Y'know, since it's my photo project and all - I should probably put one up that I took :P) FUN NIGHT <3

Amy got this one!
And finally, the one I took. I like it.

My doodle.
Man, I did not sleep well last night. I woke up with both head- and tummy- aches, and a higher body temperature than normal (not a fever - just my body trying to fight everything off). But as the day went on, I started feeling much better... I'm still feeling kinda lethargic, so I'm just taking it easy. Josh and I watched some Boy Meets World :) I like that show! Mmk, that's all for Thursday.

PS: I love Josh

Jordan is the best brother-in-law - he gave this to us yesterday. :D
After a lot of sleep and a lot of Apple Cider Vinegar, I'm feeling much better than I did yesterday. Last night was ROUGH. My throat and ears are still feeling funny, but it's nothing one more day of rest and acv and honey tea won't take care of. Thank you Jesus :)

Let me brag on my Josh for a second, though - He's been nothing but nurturing ever since I got home from work yesterday and mentioned that my throat was hurting. Making my meals for me, going to the grocery store in the snow, fixing me a wonderful smoothie and a bunch of ACV, watching the entire second disk of Chuck with me.. basically taking care of my every need - I barely moved all day haha. Plus he gives sweet me kisses on my forehead and face whenever I'm feeling bleghh. So, ♥ ♥ ♥ to Josh. He's wonderful!

Now for dinner and last night's Parenthood. Goodnight, mr. blogz.

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Today was not a bad day at work. We were really slow, but everyone seemed to be in a good mood.. which rubbed off on me, I guess :P I got several compliments on my smile and my friendliness in the drive thru.

However, as a result of not being able to cover my shift, not getting enough sleep, and being in the drive thru all day, my throat has gotten worse. Glands are swollen and ears are hurting, etc.. almost feels like the beginnings of strep, but I'm praying against it. (And I plan to get lots of sleep tonight/tomorrow.)

But that's why this post is so early in the day.. Feeling sorta blegh and tired. So, pray for me, if you think about it! I'd greatly appreciate that.

22 in a week. Can't be sick, can'tbesick.

Monday, February 7, 2011

It's pretty, but I don't want it.
Happy Monday, everybody. [Insert complaints about the weather, 6:00am shifts, and feeling blegh.]

Sunday, February 6, 2011

I like the lighting in this picture.
TODAY, Emily and I went to Fired Up and painted these big mugs :D This could become an addiction for me, I can tell. It's so fun! I didn't get a good picture of Emily's, but it's got a dragonfly on the other side, and those purple dots are like it's flight pattern.. also, she added grass to the bottom of the mug and a purple lip to the top after I'd taken this picture.. it was so cute!

My mega-mug :)
I went the simpler route and used only one color paint. Also learned from last time and didn't try to do any super-detailed patterns. I gotta say, I love the way it turned out, and I can't wait to see how it looks next week after it's been glazed and fired. The blue will be a lot darker, so I'm interested to see how those brush strokes end up looking.

Hanging out with Emily today was so fun! She wanted to go to Fired Up before she left the country next weekend, so we made a girl's day of it. We ate dinner at Panera after painting for a few hours and we just got to know each other a little better. It was really fun! So glad that Barry found her and brought her to Nashville :) She's a good friend.

Josh and Barry have been creating a map together on Halo since this afternoon. It looks really awesome, but it was just kinda funny when Em and I got back to the house and Josh was sitting there making this world with Barry over the XBox. So yeah, it looks awesome and I'm pretty excited to watch them play a game or two on it this evening with their crew :)

When Josh ridicules me, he points at his head in a show of superiority.
This is Josh ridiculing me for not taking pictures at "Uncle" Melvin's surprise birthday party this evening. There were a bunch of cute babies and a ton of attractive people, but I was too embarrassed of my amateur skills to pull out my super fancy camera and fumble around with it til I snapped some satisfactory pictures. Yes, I know.. I'm dumb.. But really. Until I get really comfortable with that thing, I'll hesitate to break it out in groups. Especially when there are at least two for-realsies photographers in the room! :P

Other than that, the party was enjoyable. I really like that family! Everyone is so sweet and friendly and everyone likes each other. Shrug, it's just nice to be around. And I wasn't kidding when I said the kids are cute... Freaking adorable. Jessica leaned over and asked us if we had any plans for babies and time soon.. and while that thought terrifies me at this present moment in our lives, I honestly look forward to having a sweet baby as adorable as Jonah or Caiden or Jack or Caleb. So cute! <3

Josh loves Chuck.

Hahaha - this makes me laugh. See, I asked Josh to throw a thumbs up in front of the screen so I could get the silhouette, like this. His resulting posture made me laugh.. haha. What a sweet and obliging husband I have.

Josh wasn't feeling too well today, so he amazingly slept in (which never happens), and we took it easy all day. Which = we played some ilomilo and watched some Chuck season 1 :D I'd never seen any of Chuck, so I'm enjoying it! I also went the comfort food route for dinner and made some veggiecheese pizza. :P I think that hanging out around the house and letting me baby him all day has done Josh a world of good... He'll back to normal in no time.

The thumb is up again. It's a thumbs up picture day.
Josh keeps telling me that I'm going to have an awesome birthday. He keeps having secret conversations and creeping around the house and telling me not to look at things, etc. SNEAKY SNEAKY. I'm excited :)

Josh isn't feeling well, so I'll keep this short -- Today, I got this super cute tote bag in the mail from In their words, they're a "fair trade business offering employment to women trapped in Kolkata's sex trade. We make quality jute bags and organic tee-shirts, but our business is freedom!"

I found them through the Not For Sale campaign, which I found through reading the book also named Not For Sale: The Return of the Global Slave Trade and How We Can Fight It. Incredible. I recommend it, seriously.

This issue hurts my heart and I want to support these women in their fight for freedom. Another neat website I found was, which has beautiful jewelry and it's the same kind of business as Free Set, but based in Bangkok and the United States.

Anyway, just wanted to share that with you guys. Love to all! Pray for my sweet husband--he's not feeling so well :/ Goodnight!

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Amy gave Josh these cute dinosaur magnets today - love 'em :)

Worked all day, then straight to the chiropractor. Josh got to hang out with his family and stuff (jealous). I'm tired, goodnight.

Happy February, everybody!

We always have a ton of extra bananas lying around, so today, I made these banana struesel muffins and they are KICKBUTT. Seriously, seriously delicious. I added semi-sweet chocolate chips to the second pan, and it's no secret that chocolate makes everything better.. so there it is :)

With the added chocolate chips <3
My birthday is fast approaching. I can't believe that I'm going to be 22 -- that's, like, grown up. 22 year olds are supposed to have everything figured out (or at least supposed to be well on their way to figuring everything out! :p) I'm excited about my birthday, though. Josh and I have talked about going on a mini-trip if the weather and everything works out. We'll see!

I've been browsing various decorating blogs, getting ideas to liven up the place a little more. I love our house and I love how cozy it is--I'm ready to personalize it a little more though. So stay tuned the next couple of weeks for redecorating photos. Well, MAYBEidunno we'll see. :p Putting little holes in the walls still scares me a little bit, sue me.

In other news, I'm beyond ready for Spring!

okokok SIGH. This is what's waiting for me in the kitchen (so I'm going to go take care of that):
