Isn't he cute? I'm so glad to see him sitting up and smiling!

Nothing too exciting to report. I went on a much-needed grocery run, and my cashier was really nice. Josh said his throat is feeling kinda bleghk, so we're ACV'ing and Airborne'ing and taking it easy for the next few days. I watched yesterday's So You Think You Can Dance on some bootleg site this afternoon before the results show, and I still love Melanie and Marko. ♥ How could you not love them! They were safe tonight (obvs) but I still wasn't thrilled with the decision to send Robert and Miranda home. Shrug.

Since Josh is on strict orders from his doctor wife to stay in bed, he spent the better part of today designing/working on a map in the Forge World on Halo. It is awe.some. He worked really hard on it, and it's just plain cool!

That's about it.

We made this yummy stir-fry for dinner tonight! Super easy, too - just some flax seed tempeh, a bag of frozen "stir fry" vegetables, 2tbs Bragg's Liquid Aminos (in lieu of soy sauce), and some sesame seeds on top. All on a bed of brown rice! (Credit to Emily MacD for giving us the basic recipe idea a few months ago.)

Josh hasn't had a fever at all today! Praise the Lord! His headache's a lot better, too = good news :) We're still going to take it easy the next few days until he regains his strength completely. So we had to skip Jordan's race tonight, in the interest of not overdoing it.. Heard he got in 3rd place in his cat4 race, won a premium lap (which is basically just a lap in the middle of the race where you can win free stuff if you're first over the finish line for that lap - he won a Cumberland Cycling t-shirt lol), and now he's ranked first over-all for the summer so far! Go Jordan! Such a bummer that we have to miss it :/ Thankfully, he's got two races this weekend, so we'll do our best to make it to at least one of those!

I got to talk to my good friend Emily McGinty a little bit on the phone tonight, and that was so nice. I haven't talked to her in a long time, and even though our chat wasn't super long or anything, it was just nice to know how she's doing. She's a great friend. :)

Dude, two more days and I'll be at the halfway mark for the year and this blog.. Soo glad that sickness is lifting from this house and we'll be out of the house a little more often (this coming from a resolute homebody!) - Maybe I'm just not being creative enough, but I'm tired of trying to find things to take pictures of in this house... it's hard to care when you're not feeling well, haha.

Hope everyone's having a great week!

Check out our Mexican-blanket-as-a-makeshift-curtain. The other window in our bedroom is covered with a leopard print blanket, haha. They help with Josh's headaches. I think it looks cool :P He's still improving - barely any fever today! - but he's not back to 100% yet. However, he did beat the first Portal (it was awesome), which means we can start playing Portal 2! Yep. That's about it. Life's real exciting lately, you guys...

Josh woke up feeling better, but as the day went on, his head started hurting him again and now I think he's feeling kinda achey again :/ He still has a fever, but it is better than yesterday! We just spent the day taking it easy and watching Boy Meets World :) Now I'm trying to get him to go to sleep for the night.

P.S. We're super praying for Aiden and the Lomaxes and Wisers today. I'm believing in life for Aiden! May God's will be done.

My poor Josh woke up with a fever today :( we can't figure out why, except maybe that he hasn't been as careful about the food he's eaten, and he's exercised less this last week than normal. So maybe his body is like, "Wait... You're not being uber healthy... Now I have to fight things off on my own..." So I've been taking care of him all day, trying to get him to sleep and drink lots of water so his body can work through whatever it is it's trying to work through. Poor guy :(

I almost put up a picture of the thermometer with his fever temperature on it, but then I realized it looked kinda like a pregnancy test in the thumbnail :P Didn't want another April Fool's Day on our hands...

GUESS WHO?! If you guessed "a handful," you would be correct!

But enough with the Mitch Hedberg bits, it was my b-day yesterday, and Kelli said I could update her blog today if I wanted, BOOM. So these were the best gifts I got yesterday. "Adventures in Odyssey: The Official Guide"... I mean, 'nuff said. A new tennis racquet THANK YOU MOM. And then my two absolutely favorites.... things that I've wanted for a very, very long time. My parent's got me a mic for the Canon 7D... I cannot wait to try that thing out soon.

And then Kelli blindsided me with the guy on the far right. It's a rig or "shoulder mount" for the camera... Basically so you can do steady shots while in motion, without having the sloppiness of  holding the camera in your hands. Anyways, I had mentioned MONTHS ago that I wanted one of those, and even did what I thought was a thorough bargain hunt online for one... but the cheapest I could find was like 500 bucks. No sir. So I just forgot about it. Well, Kelli found one for me that was under 100 bucks. Maybe the best present I've ever gotten.... that thing is gonna be fun to learn how to use.

We spend yesterday partying it up with my family, so today was just me and the Mrs. We had an absolute blast. She took me on our inaugural visit to the Belcourt theatre and we saw "The Tree of Life" which I'll probably still be watching 20 years from now. As a piece of art, it was exhilarating, incredible, etc... As a movie, it was a little confusing on first viewing. Parts of it we loved, parts of it we didn't. But it definitely inspired all kinds of conversations on the way home. I'm looking forward to seeing it again and soaking in the scenery, picking up on the nuances, etc. Anyways, definitely something to at least go and experience, if not like! Ha ha.

Well this was fun. "Boy Meets World" and "Adventures in Odyssey"... I don't think I can finish an episode of those TV/radio programs without at least one tear welling up in my eyes. Both are so good. Highly recommended if you've never gotten into either of them. They both have a lot of very good things to say about life, and the best way to live it. KCYA Josh out

Today is my sweetheart's birthday!! ♥ We ate dinner at Painturo's with his family, YUMMY, and then went back to their house for presents and we played a new game (one of Josh's gifts) called Truth Be Told and I think it was a hit! (and AN-NA came!) Mrs. Laurie made this delicious Apple Upside Down Cake, and Amy painted this cute birthday sign for Josh:

It was a really fun day! Going out to eat with my in-laws is always really fun - everyone cracking jokes and chatting it up. Tomorrow, I'm going to surprise him with a special day doing lots of things he likes, just the two of us. It'll be fun! Happy birthday, Josh ♥

174

Happy birthday to Barry!! A bunch of us got together tonight at the Taylor's and we celebrated with a few of Barry's favorite things: His wife's ah-mazing Shepherd's pie, Mrs. Laurie's famous quesadillas, gummy candy of all sorts, Amy's super-rich chocolate pie, and of course, Halo! Yes, they do have three TVs and three XBox's in that room, haha. They were having a blast. Jen and I even jumped in on a couple of games; it was really fun! And Barry seemed to really enjoy himself (even if he wasn't surprised), so I think the night was a success :)

Today, I went to the doctor for the first time in almost a year. Well, let me explain what was going on:

So... for the past few weeks, I've had this strange bump on my left foot that started out the size of a pencil's eraser (maybe a little smaller), and has progressively gotten worse and worse and turned into what now looks like a golfball-sized bruise, with a half-ring of a red, raised ridge (I'm thinking that the ridge part just grew from the original bump). I've been trying just to wait it out, because there was actually ANOTHER bump, of similar starting size and location, on my right foot before this current one popped up. That bump grew just a little and then died down and went away, so naturally, I assume this one's gonna do the same thing. Well, it hasn't gone away. It hurts like crap, especially if I walk around or stand for any length of time. I've tried a bunch of different things to try to get it better - Arnica gel, soaking it in ice cold water, soaking it in ACV, Epsom salt, echinacea - but it's just kept getting worse and worse. So today I finally caved in and we decided that I should go see a doctor to make sure it's not something serious. We tried a new clinic and I loved them. I've had a lot of bad experiences with doctors over the years, but this little Walk-In Clinic treated me so well and they were so gentle. Now, granted, this was the least invasive visit I've experience, just by the nature of this ailment, but still. They respected my desire to keep everything as natural as possible too, which is unheard of for me - usually doctors try to talk me out of that.

ANYWAY (sorry this so drawn out) They didn't know what is causing this strange bump/bruise/infection. They threw out a lot of possible diagnoses: a bone spur, gout, deep tissue bruising caused by trauma, insect bites, fungal infection, and "superficial cellulitis." She thought it was probably that last one, which is basically just inflammation and infection of the skin. SO we haggled about treatment for a few moments (I refused to take oral antibiotics or steroids) until we agreed on a topical anti inflammatory cream. If it's no better after a week or two, they're going to X-ray my foot to make sure there's no bone or deep tissue damage.

So that's that! Thanks for your prayers, and I'd appreciate continued prayer that my foot would heal up quickly and I would be in less pain. It's been quite a month, huh? Just one thing after another. Looks like it's time for me to get super serious about nutrition again. I'll keep you guys updated.

My sweetheart's birthday is tomorrow! ♥

Josh got Relient K's Forget and Not Slow Down vinyl last night at the show... Needless to say, he was peeing his pants all day about it. He's so excited :D We really like this album!

Unfortunately, there was no race tonight because of rain. But JEN came over!!! She was going to go to the race with us, so we just hung out at the house instead. Josh made us a yummy salmon dinner and we just hung out for a few hours :) It's always so fun to have Jen over. We love her ♥

:( Josh went to Relient K's show in Nashville tonight. I was going to go with him - we had a ticket and everything. Thankfully, Steven was able to step in so Josh didn't have to go alone :) See, my foot has been hurting me a lot lately, and standing for several hours probably wouldn't do it any good. So I'm stayed home and I *tried* to keep my foot in a bucket of ice water... Call me a baby, but I couldn't keep it in any longer than a few seconds! I read some of Peter Pan for the first time - it was precious! I only got a few chapters in, but I understand why it's beloved.

Ugh, I waited too long to my blog tonight. I hate when I do that. So that's why you guys get the lame self-portrait. Plus side is I love the shirt I'm wearing! Got it a couple weeks ago ;)

We got to go to Joshie's soccer game today! It was the first time we've seen him play soccer since last Fall. He played really well, but I think he was frustrated with the way the game went. They lost 3-1 :/ But Josh is a very talented player, and it was fun to watch him again; I'm so proud of my lil brother! :D Plus, I got a little sun today - Lord knows I need it, lol. Here's Josh (#4) using some fancy footwork to steal the ball right out from this guy's path:

I'm pretty well satisfied with these two pictures, but I'll be the first to admit that I'm no sports photographer. Maybe if I had better equipment, it wouldn't be as frustrating, but with what I've got, it's difficult to capture those "Wow!" moments. For me, at least! Maybe I just don't know the secrets yet or something :P

The sun drained it outta me, dude. I'm going to bed.

Happy Father's Day! This year, not only did I celebrate two moms for the first time, but I also have two Dads to celebrate, for the first time! :) It was a good day - we ate lunch with my family and I got to give my daddy a big hug! I'm so thankful for my daddy and the unconditional love he's always shown me ♥ You're the best, Dad!

Then we ate dinner with the Taylor's and I got to give my 'new' Father in law a big hug. I'm so thankful for how kind Mr Ray has always been to me. He's a great dad! He raised Josh to be a  respectful, loving husband who takes such good care of me. Thanks, Daddy Ray!

My Josh isn't a daddy yet, and he may not be for a few years (but who knows - whatever the Good Lord wills!) but I kept thinking today about how great a father he will be when that time comes. I have no doubt that our children will be showered with love and affection from their daddy - the little girls will know how special and beautiful they are to him, and the little boys will grow up secure in his love and pride for them. I can't wait to see that :D

Deniece and her Josh came over for dinner too - with big news! They're ENGAGED!!!!! It happened right before they came over. He surprised her at Centennial Park. It wa sooo cool to get to hang out with them right after. They were both glowong! It was the sweetest thung! And it made me feel all romantic, remembering the day my own Josh proposed to me. They were so much fun, and seriously adorable all night. Neither one could srop smiling!

So yes. Today was a great day!

This is the remains of a glass jar I was keeping on the top of the fridge. Josh opened the door to get some water, and the jar just fell. No warning! I even had to throw him some shoes, haha. So we cleaned it up and decided to NOT keep glass things on top of the refrigerator. Smart!

I slept so much today. Went to sleep early last night, and didn't get up 'til way late.. And it was awesome. I was so exhausted yesterday, for some reason. Like, I was so tired that I dreamt about falling asleep, over and over, haha. I guess going to out to Murfreesboro on Thursday for Joshie's ceremony wore me out. Or maybe I'm still fighting off some sickness, who knows.. But at least I feel more refreshed than I have in a while! Still no camera today, I'll probably get it back on Monday :)

Oh, speaking of Monday - we probably won't have a game night this week because Joshie's game that was supposed to happen today was postponed to Monday.  Just a head's up!

This weekend, my brother Joshie is playing in a mega-huge-deal Regional Soccer Championship, in Murfreesboro. Today, they kicked things off with an Opening Ceremony.. It was honestly kind of strange. Thousands of people were there, but the sound system wasn't working very well - sort of makes it hard to be invested in what's going on, haha. Thankfully, it only lasted an hour! And they only made us do the wave twice. Also, horses:

Tennessee Walking Horses, to be exact.

The tournament officially starts tomorrow! There were tons of players, from like ten different states - each state with 10-20 teams... It was crazy watching all those soccer kids running around! CRAZY, I tell you. But I'm excited to see Joshie play, because I haven't been able to do that in a while. He's gonna be great - my little brother is so talented. I hope he has a blast :)

Over a delicious soyless-meatless-"chicken"-dinner, we watched SYTYCD (*SPOILER ALERT*) - this show is going to be my obsession for the summer. Love it. They didn't send anyone home! Which I'm loving, because the first week it's always like, we don't even know the difference between these dancers well enough yet to know whether we want them to stay or not, you know? Lady Gaga as a future guest judge... I can't decide if I'm going to hate that or love to hate it. We'll see!

I'll leave you with this really cool picture that Josh took early this foggy morning (long before I was awake!) I think it looks awesome:

P.S. Thank you, Emily Rushton, for the blog encouragement. It's nice to have support from someone who's been there before ;)

I grow weary of blogging. Something about talking about myself on the internet every single day isn't appealing for me anymore, haha. Shrug. Since I've been ill, I haven't had any "WOW!" pictures that I couldn't wait to share with you guys. It's more fun when I'm proud of what I'm posting, you know? Haha. Plus, sitting around, trying to get myself healthy, it's not the most interesting thing the world. I'm sure I'll get back into it when I don't have to spend half my day making sure I'll continue to improve! I'm not saying this because I want to give up or anything - I'm just keepin' it real :P

Well, Josh took me on a date today - that's worth mentioning! We had fun - tried Cheddar's for the first time and it was d e l i c i o u s and cheap! We'll be back for sure.

Meh - I haven't felt so good today. Last night, I was overly confident and I ate some pizza.. Sue me, I was hungry! Ha ha. But I'm suffering the consequences today. So no more pizza for Kelli.

Today wasn't a total loss, though. I thoroughly enjoyed bumming around with my handsome husband... He took very good care of me and sat around watching movies with me most of the day :D Now he's playing Alan Wake while I get this posted.

That's pretty much it. Sorry my posts have been so short lately! I haven't really put much effort into this blog as of late. I just want to go to bed...

Today was wonderful - we got to spend time with both of our families! ...And I left the camera at home, haha. Thanks to Amy for letting me borrow her camera for this goofy picture :p We love each other ♥

Today was a very nice joshandkelli date day:

- Outback Steakhouse (delicious)
- Dick's Sporting Goods (Josh found a $500 paddleboat that he wants so bad)
- Super 8 (amazing)
- Good conversation (sprinkled throughout the day)

I love my J♥SH!

This afternoon, my Alex came over to hang out! We chatted and played Animal Crossing all day, hahaha. It was good to just be with him. Then Abby came over this evening to exact her revenge on Josh for what happened in yesterday's post. Gotta say, she looks as stylish as ever! :P Such a fun day :) I got to hang out with two of my favorite people, and it was wonderful.

Sleepytime.

LOL at this picture. Abby called us on skype tonight and Josh got so angry he punched her out through the computer, obviously. I mean, what else could have caused this picture to happen? :p ♥ skyping with Abby (with Evan and Judy's color commentary going on in the background) is the best!

Josh took me on an afternoon date to see X-Men: First Class. It was pretty good! I mean it was an X-Men movie, so I guess it depends on if you like those or not. Josh and I do, so we enjoyed the movie pretty well :) Just note that there is not a hidden scene at the end of the credits, haha - we learned that the hard foolish way. After our date, Josh went to hang out with his buddy Barry, who just got back into town after two weeks of Army duty. While Josh was gone, I sneaked some birthday planning. I got him a gift that I think he's going to ♫ liiii-iiike! ♫ I'MEXCITED.

Tomorrow looks like it's going to be a fun one :)

Katie recently got these adorable pink sparkly TOMS. I love them! Katie's a cutie :)

Tonight, the Musgroves and us went over to the Taylor's to watch So You Think You Can Dance. It was fun! We've got a lot of the same favorites, and several of them made it through for tomorrow's Top 20 reveal. It was fun watching SYTYCD with the Musgrove girls... Love them!

Alright, this has been the third night in a row that we've been out kinda late, and I'm straight up exhausted. After a week of bed rest, the smallest things are wearing me out.. Goodnight!

The Turners invited us over for dinner and card games this evening, and it was fuuuuuuuuuun! Dinner was so good - baked potatoes, broccoli, and oatmeal muffins.. Scrumptious! I even sneaked a bite of the steak that Steven grilled for the rest of them, and it was delicious.

Mr. David had to leave after dinner, but the rest of them stuck around to teach us the rules of Baptist Rook - Josh has always talked about that game, but he couldn't remember how to play. It was a blast! And easy! Now I understand why Josh was so fixated on it for so long, haha. They also taught us the game Presidents... and that was really fun too. Justin was a beast at the game, but I think I did a pretty good job of keeping up :P Thanks, Turners, for such an enjoyable evening! (We missed you, Calista!! Next time you and Alex are in town, we'll have to have another Turner/Other Taylors game night.)

Now, Josh is working on a drawing, and when he gets far enough along with that, we're going to watch The Walking Dead. Should be interesting!

P.S. It's been a week since I fell ill, and I'm so much better than last week. I can walk! Haha. Still not 100%, but I'm surely getting there! Thanks for all the prayers, and praise the Lord for the healing I've already experienced. ♥

DUDE we played Fishbowl this evening at game night - SO MUCH FUN. It was a really close game the whole time. We ended up tying - the tiebreaker was a "lightning round" between the two best players (Josh and Benge) lucky for us, Benge got stuck on his first card. Ron Burgundy is the hardest to mime out... But also lucky for us, Josh is a baller at Fishbowl. It doesn't matter which team he's on, they always win haha.

I'm. exhausted. goodnight.

I waited til the last minute to take a picture again. This is our current "bed." AKA our couch, chair, and ottoman all shoved together and covered with an old quilt. It's so hot upstairs! So instead of turning our A/C down to a ridiculous low (and to avoid getting a ridiculous bill), we've just been sleeping downstairs with a couple of fans. It's much more comfortable down here.

Today was a good day :) We went over to the Taylor's for dinner, I got to skype with my family in Austin,  and I'm still steadily improving. Praise the Lord!

155

Well, it's Saturday, and I'm still not feeling well enough to drive the fourteen hours to Texas. :/ I'm bummed! I hope they have internet at the house so we can skype! It's been so many years since I've seen everyone.. Such a bummer. But they'll all have fuun ♥ and I'll keep getting healthier, haha.

Today's been pretty good. I've seen improvement every day :) I still hurt, but at least I know I'm on the right path! Josh and I watched The Switch over dinner. It was cute! I love movies with weird/cute little boys in them, haha. They make me want to have a weird/cute little boy! :p Plus we're both Jason Bateman fans. It was cute :)

I also watched a documentary called Very Young Girls this morning on Netflix - about the sex exploitation of minors in the US. Well, really it focused on a group called GEMS (Girls Education & Mentoring Service) in New York. We're talking 12, 13 year old girls, getting picked up by pimps who  mess with their minds and abuse them to get them to be prostitutes. All for money. Like, how do guys like that live with themselves?! I suggest the film - it was informative, and heartbreaking!

OK, this puppy is tired and ready to crash. G'night, everyone. Thanks for your continued prayer :)

Today has been the best day so far. And not only because I've improved, but because I had visitors ♥ This morning, my momma stopped by to give me this amazing quilt she made for me! :D :D Isn't it cute?! Purple and green are my two favorite colors. This quilt will always be so special to me because I know how hard my mom worked on it - she's been working on it all year! I think the timing was just perfect - she brightened my day with it. I needed the cheering, after the week I've had! So after she showed me the beautiful quilt, she and I chatted until she had to go to work. It was really refreshing to hang out with my Momma - it did me a lot of good! :)

Then, this afternoon, Alex came over! :D :D We were going to watch the 6-hour saga A Town Like Alice (the 1981 miniseries)... We were weird kids, growing up. I remember multiple occasions of sitting upstairs, playing with Legos or Playmobile, and watching the whole 6 hours in a single sitting. And it's not like it's captivating or anything! It's pretty boring! We were such weird kids... so anyway, we were going to watch it today, but when he got here, I was playing The Secret of Monkey Island. By the time we grew tired of TSOMI, neither of us wanted to sit through 6 hours of slow-moving British drama, haha. So we hung out for a little and then Alex turned on Alice In Wonderland. (We both hate that stupid dance Johnny Depp does at the end of the movie!) It was really good to hang out with him today as well! We haven't had one-on-one hang out time in a long time, so seeing him did me a lotta good too.

Now, if you'll excuse me, My husband just got home and I haven't seen him very much today... and I've missed him. ♥

Oh, hi! I'm Wally the Late Puppy. I had to mosey on down from the magical forest of Opstirs to deliver this blog. My poor master hasn't been feeling too well. (Keep your voice down! She's still asleep!) From what I could gather from my other forest friends who happened to be wandering your land yesterday, she had a pretty rough one. I think that's probably why I was called down from Opstirs.

I think her husband left for a couple of hours to play Halo with some other humans in the evening, but came back home when the master began experiencing a migraine. They fell asleep on the couch shortly after he arrived home, and remained there until morning.

The other forest creatures, and all the citizens of Opstirs have been praying for a speedy recovery for the master. Hopefully, she will be feeling better today.

Okay, well I need to be heading back home. If anyone wants to contribute to the digitalization of Opstirs, that would be muchly appreciated. That way I wouldn't have to travel to a foreign land just to access the World Wide Web and also to play those fun Miniclip games.

I've been working on this drawing all afternoon and evening! I love it. I think it would be fun to paint a bigger version to hang up on one of these walls. We'll see, maybe one day I'll be brave enough to buy a canvas and some paints. But this little drawing kept me from boredom on my second day of bedrest, and I had a lot of fun making it.

I'm still not back to 100%, but the pain was more bearable today. I'm prrrraying praying praying that I will be well enough to go to Austin! I skipped out on girl night tonight so I can just take it easy - I don't want to take any chances. Such a bummer that I'm missing it though! :( I'd be a million times more bummed if I couldn't make it to the family reunion. Mom's side of the family hasn't gotten together like this in YEARS! I can't even remember the last time I saw my Grandpa Bill.. So please just pray for some sort of miracle. I believe God can restore my body!

Josh went to Jordan's race tonight. Jordan did really well - he got 5th place! Josh said a wreck happened right in front of Jordan, but he somehow managed to swerve around it without eating pavement. Josh said it was a pretty exciting race, haha, and that Jordan raced very smart. Wish I'd been there to see it.

Mmk, one last plea for prayers. Thanks to everyone who is praying :)
